Adrenalin junkies looking for a rush? Or just the best view of the mountains? Then head for the heights of the Grande Motte cable car roof terrace, starting this Saturday, 22nd June...
On Saturday, 22nd June, when the Grande Motte cable car taking vistors up to the glacier opens in Tignes there will be roof top travel for around 30 people to admire the panoramic view.
The two cabins now have roof terraces for passengers looking for more of an adrenline fueled ride with views of Mont Blanc, the Cime de Bellecôte and l'Aiguille de la Grande Sassière.
Designed in Switzerland, running from 3,032 to 3,456m above the Grande Motte glacier, the new Tignes cable car is reported to have cost €17m. It will be open for the summer until the end of August.
For the record, Tignes is the first ski area in the world to receive the Green Globe certification for sustainable tourism. Membership is reserved for companies and organizations who are committed to making positive contributions to people and planet.
So hopefully the view of the glacier will last for a few more decades.
PS. Of course, Candide Thorex doesn't need a terrace or a ticket.
