Want to race uphill? Ski tour at night? Test new gear? Enter now for the Big uP & Down, the three-day ski touring event returning to Les Arcs for the third edition from 27th-29th January 2017.

You don't have to be a pro to take part in the Big uP & Down three day ski touring event, joining the world famous ski mountaineer Killian Jornet and Les Arcs team rider Enak Gavaggio and sharing a weekend focusing on all aspects of this growing sport.

The programme from Friday to Sunday is designed to appeal to a mixture of participants, whether recreational ski tourers or serious ski-mo racers.

Friday, 27th January evening: The famous Kilianometre (main image from 2015), an ascent open to everyone and led by the trail-running and ski-mountaineering champion Kilian Jornet himself.

Saturday, 28th January evening: The Belle Montée, an untimed climb, so everyone at their own pace, by the light of head torches and supervised by instructors. Before the downhill run, some hot soup.

Sunday, 29th January: The Big Nak designed and laid out by Enak Gavaggio for endurance skiing, over part of the Les Arcs ski area. With a choice of the light option or the more extreme version

And, in January, for the first time part of the programme will be 'Girls Only' dedicated to women who want an introduction to ski touring or who want to hone their skills, all supervised by professionals in the sport.

There will also be a Test Village on the snow for trying out the ski touring kit from 15 major brands and workshops to learn about  safety.

Entries are now open.
