Tell us why we need ShredLORD? 

You don't need ShredLORD — you'll simply want it the moment you ride with it. On ice, it gives you consistent edge control. In slush, it swallows those harsh, unexpected impacts. And on long days when your legs are begging for mercy, but your brain wants 'one more run', it keeps your body fresher for longer. 

ShredLORD is a backfoot shock absorber that reduces impacts through controlled tilting motion. Independent measurements showed peak impact reduction of over 40 percent, unmatched vibration dampening in just 0.4 seconds, and a noticeably more stable center of gravity while riding. It's a small piece of hardware that makes a big difference. 

What made you decide to develop it? 

We've been snowboarding for more than two decades — it's the sport we grew up with, the one we always return to. Two of us are material engineers, so tinkering and solving problems is basically a reflex. 

The spark came when Uroš started skiing to help his kids learn. He noticed something simple but revealing; on icy patches, skiers still have one ski gripping even if the other chatters. On a snowboard, once the edge slips, the whole board tends to go. That observation stuck. He even joked on the chairlift that he could tell skiers and snowboarders apart just by the sound of their edges on ice. 

When he got back on his board with Miloš and Jakob, we started talking seriously about how snowboard gear could evolve. Those small insights snowballed into a bigger idea and eventually into ShredLORD. Now that our kids are getting into snowboarding too, a kids' version is officially on our roadmap. 

How did you go about funding and development? 

We started in the workshop of Uroš's dad. Rough sketches, rougher prototypes, and a lot of trial and errors. The first version was basically two steel plates connected by a kingpin with skateboard bushings, which turned out way too soft. From there, we tested countless materials and geometries until the design matured into what we have today. 

Along the way, we received support from the FFG and measurement assistance from the Sports Ergonomics Department at FH Technikum Wien. But most of the funding came straight from our own pockets because we believed in the idea. Our Kickstarter campaign in December brought in nearly 30,000 USD, which is now fueling the next stage of development. 

Is ShredLORD compatible with all snowboard bindings? 

ShredLORD works with all 4x4, 2x4, and Channel system boards, and with 4x4 and 2x4 bindings. It's not compatible with 3D systems or Burton EST bindings. However, regular Burton bindings work perfectly with the Re:Flex disk. 

How easy is it to fix? 

Installation is super easy. All you need is a PH3 screwdriver and about two minutes. We also have installation tutorials on our YouTube channel for both 4x4 boards and Burton Channel setups. 

Will ShredLORD feel radically different when riding? 

It won't change the soul of your ride — it will refine it. Expect smoother transitions, significantly less heel-side chatter, and a subtle springlike feel when moving from toe to heel and back. Most riders also report noticeably less fatigue because those constant microvibrations simply don't reach the body anymore. 

Think of it like switching from a rigid mountain bike to one with real suspension: the terrain is still raw and alive, but the harsh hits vanish. You stay faster, smoother, and more in control — and that's exactly what this does for your board. 

How have the reviews of ShredLORD been from testers? 

Honestly, incredible. Testers keep asking for a second unit for the front foot. Some called it a 'cheat code' for snowboarding. Across the board, riders reported better control, especially in tough and icy conditions, and a more stable, confident feel. 

Where can we buy ShredLORD and how much does it cost? 

As a small company, we faced the usual challenges of entering an established market dominated by wellknown brands. But being small is also our biggest advantage. Every unit is hand-assembled, production runs are intentionally limited, and we have complete freedom to prioritise performance over volume. 

Right now, we're selling the last units from our first production batch through Kickstarter. Our own webshop is in the works, and preorders for the second production run will open soon. Currently the price is 149 USD, containing one ShredLORD device with a hard (preinstalled) and additional soft bushing set included.
